I just had this come across my twitter feed, the tweet being authored by John Piper said this - "God's preference: Knowing him above serving him. "I desire knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6"
I'm not really sure thats what hosea is talking about in this passage. I'd like to hear what you guys think God is talking about in this passage, in comments or on facebook or email and so forth.
However, whether or not this scripture is being used properly under this context it does bring up an interesting topic. Have you ever heard the saying "God we desire not your hand, but your heart"? Could it be that God desires the same of us? Don't get me wrong James makes it very clear that actions will follow your beliefs(James 1:22-23).
Think about the concept of God desiring to be intimate with you more than you doing his kingdom work today.
-maybe that might just propel you to do better kingdom work today!
